National Poetry Day Part 2

Well as promised here are Martin's, Stuarts and my favourite poems!

Martin chose particularly well we think, he asked for "The more it snows" from The house at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne!

The more it snows
(Tiddly Pom)
The more it goes
(Tiddly Pom)
The more it goes
(Tiddly Pom)
On snowing.

And nobody knows
(Tiddly Pom)
How gold my toes
(Tiddly Pom)
How cold my toes
(Tiddly Pom)
Are growing.

Stuart chose "Spring and Fall" by Gerard Manley Hopkins

to a Young Child

Margaret, are you grieving
Over Goldengrove unleaving?
Leaves, like the things of man, you
With your fresh thoughts care for, can you?
Ah! as the heart grows older
It will come to such sights colder
By and by, nor spare a sigh
Though worlds of wanwood leafmeal lie;
And yet you will weep and know why.
Now no matter, child, the name:
Sorrow's springs are the same.
Nor mouth had, no nor mind, expressed
What héart héard of, ghóst guéssed:
It is the blight man was born for,
It is Margaret you mourn for.

and finally, one of my favourites is "Today I saw a little worm" by Spike Milligan

Today I saw a little worm
Wriggling on his belly.
Perhaps he'd like to come inside
And see what's on the Telly.

What is your favourite poem, why not leave us a comment and tell us!
